  • I do not take insurance. However, if you have PPO insurance, I can provide a “super bill” that you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. I recommend calling your insurance company prior to starting therapy to ask about reimbursement rates for out-of-network providers.

  • No. At this time, I only offer telehealth therapy for residents of California.

  • I require a 48-hour notice for cancellations. Cancellations made within 48 hours and no-shows will be charged the full fee.

  • Meeting a new therapist and starting therapy can be anxiety-producing. Let me tell you a little bit about what to expect when starting therapy with me.

I consider the first 2-3 sessions introductory sessions where we get to know one another and discuss what brings you to therapy. I will ask questions about various facets of your life so that I have a good understanding of your story, context, and concerns. After 2-3 sessions, you and I will develop a treatment plan that outlines your goals for therapy. Then, we will get to work!

In family therapy, the process will be similar in that the first 2-3 sessions will focus on getting to know your family’s story and setting goals for treatment. You can expect for there to be some sessions in family therapy with all participating family members, and some sessions that are adolescent-only and caregiver(s)-only.

  • My number one priority is your safety. Given the serious medical consequences of eating disorders, I will require you to visit your primary care doctor at the beginning of our work together to ensure you are medically stable for outpatient therapy. It will be important for you to follow up with your primary care doctor at the interval they recommend to monitor any medical symptoms.

In many cases, I will also highly recommend that you see a dietician as another important member of your care team for recovery. We will discuss individualized recommendations for additional providers at the onset of our work together
