Hello! I am happy you are here.

Hi! I’m Dr. Allie King, and I’m passionate about helping people who struggle with eating disorders build expansive lives outside of their eating disorders.

While eating disorders cause immense pain and carry serious medical risks, they are often well-intentioned attempts to protect you or meet an underlying need. I do not believe we need to demonize the eating disorder. Instead, we can honor the eating disorder’s intentions while we work together to find new ways to meet your needs.

It may be hard to know if recovery is “worth it” or even possible for you. The eating disorder may be painful, yet also feel comforting. I get it. Together, we will explore what a meaningful life in recovery could look like for you.

I believe…

  • It is possible to find joy in your relationship with food where you can savor a meal with your family and loved ones.

  • It is possible to develop a trusting relationship with your body where you tune into its inherent wisdom instead of critiquing its outward appearance.

  • It is possible to feel present in your body without being consumed by thoughts of what you ate or what you will eat later in the day.

  • It is possible to build a life outside of your eating disorder — one where you feel free to take up space, speak your mind, and pursue goals aligned with your values.

All bodies are inherently good bodies. All bodies are deserving of nourishment, rest, and joy. There is nothing wrong with your body, and there never was. Whether you are trying out recovery for the first time or seeking support to continue your journey, I am here for you.

“True belonging is the spiritual practice of believing in and belonging to yourself so deeply that you can share your most authentic self with the world and find sacredness in both being a part of something and standing alone in the wilderness.”
